Today the App is.....Skype!
Skype, owned my Microsoft is a powerful program on laptop's and computer's that allow people from accros the world to talk to each other, no matter where they are.
If your computer or laptop is running Windows 8, 8.1 or even Windows 8.1 RT they you'll know that Skype has its own Merto App on the Start Screen.
Anyway, there is also an App for Skype so you can video call, send messages, pictures and more right from your phone or tablet! Its a free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
You can sign in with your Microsoft or Skype Account and all of your contact will show up. Just tap one to start chatting or video call. Just like the desktop version of Skype you can set your Status: Online, Away, Do Not Disturb, Insivible and Offline. Even update your Mood Message and tell your contact's what you're up to.
You can send files, pictures, contacts and more all within the App. Topping up your Skype Credit is easy too. If the mobile device you are using has a front faceing camera and a rear one (on the back) then you can press the camera rotating button.
Skype is both for Apple (iOS) and Android uses (Google Play), all for FREE!
