It seems the 140 character limit for Tweets is going, however, we should soon now all be able to Tweet for longer! A longer character limit of 10,000 may soon be introduced. Direct messaging is currently set at 10,000 characters too.
Currently, users on Twitter have been including screenshots of text in their Tweets.
Twitter, who is based in San Francisco isn’t yet commenting on anything to do with this yet.
Twitter has not made a profit since it launched in 2006.
The 140 character limit was pit on messages/Tweets so that it could be easily used on mobile phones, they could only deal with 160 character texts at the time.
We’ll have more on this as soon as we can!
