O2 customers hit with issues when making and taking calls

On O2? It seems that network is having issues right now

It has been reported that millions of customers on the O2 network in the UK are having issues when making and taking phone calls.

Thousands of O2 customers in the United Kingdom have reported issues when making and taking phone calls today. Many of their customers have logged calls and complaints on O2's social media pages, including Twitter and other online websites.

A spokespersons for O2 has said that normal service should now be resumed.

O2's official Twitter account - @O2 - has a pinned tweet that says: "Some customers may have experienced issues using their mobile earlier today.

This was fixed within 40 minutes, but some customers may experience intermittent issues reconnecting to the network. We’re investigating what happened and we're truly sorry for any inconvenience caused."

The interruption started at 18:00 (6:00 pm) BST and lasted for 40 minutes. But when customers are trying to reconnect to the network, they may still be affected by the issues, O2 have said.

Taking a delve into the world that is O2's Twitter page, support staff have seen to suggest that users turn their handsets on and off to see if that fixes the issue.

On the status checker page of the O2 website, it seems that when typing in some postcodes, a message showed stating the phone masts were not working.
