macOS Mojave is here so you can upgrade for free. Here's out simple how to and tutorial guide for upgrading.
Mojave has a whole bunch of features to make your Mac experience better than before. There is a brand new Dark Mode feature which makes your Mac: Dark. This means you can focus on what really matters and get your teeth stuck into whatever you're doing.
Dynamic Desktop is here: throughout the day, hour by hour, your desktop will change to match the day. For example, if it's light in the morning and dark in the afternoon. Best of all, this works wherever you are.
You can now work on files without even opening them, thanks to the new Quick Look feature. When tapping the space bar, you don't just get a quick look at the document or file, you have the power to edit it, too. Of course, depending on what file you're viewing, different options and actions will show. Once you've finished, you ever have the power to share your document from the Quick Look feature as well.
To take advantage of all this, plus a whole lot more, you'll have to upgrade your Mac to macOS Mojave. Like previous macOS software updates, Mojave is free.
The chances are, your Mac can upgrade to Mojave. Here's how:
According to Apple's website, "Mac computers with Metal-capable graphics processors" can be upgrading to macOS Mojave.
Just like when you upgrade anything, you should always back everything up to be on the safe side, and Apple recommend this. After you've backed up all of your important data, you can start the upgrade process.
If your Mac is running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 or later, you can upgrade to macOS Mojave right away. To check what OS you're running, click on the Apple logo in the top left hand corner of the display and click on 'About This Mac'.
Here comes the exciting part: it's upgrade time! Head over to the Mac App Store and hit the 'upgrade' button. The Launchpad icon also houses an upgrade button for Mojave as well. Thirdly, you can upgrade via Apple's website if you wish.
After this, just follow the on screen instructions and the upgrade will begin. You do need to be connected the the internet using Wi-Fi or a network cable. If you don't have internet access, visit an Apple Store and they'll help you out.
Other information
Head to the Mac App Store and hit the 'Get' button. After this, the installer opens automatically.
If you'd like to keep your Mac up to date and download software automatically (and apps), select ”Automatically keep my Mac up to date” from the System Preferences on your Mac.
As with any upgrade, there are system requirements and it is always good to check if your Mac meets such requirements. It's easy to check as well. Just head over to the following page on Apple's website and all the specifications are listed.
