Apple acquires popular music app Shazam

On September 24 2018, tech giant, Apple, fully acquired popular music searching app, Shazam.

Shazam is used by hundreds of millions of people all around the world. It is one of the world's most popular and highly rated app and service.

Vice president of Apple Music at Apple said: "Shazam was one of the first apps available when we launched the App Store and has become a favourite app for music fans everywhere".

According to Apple, Shazam has been downloaded over 1 billion times around the world and it is used over 20 millions times each day as people use the service to identify songs from everywhere.

The app works by letting users' listen to music and it'll identify it for them and show the track up in the app. Music fans can follow their favourite artists using the app and people can also share audio and video, too.

The great news is that Apple will soon be stripping the adverts on Shazam and it'll be offered out without any ads at all, meaning everyone can enjoy a great Shazam experience without any interruptions.
