The thank u, next music video is finally here and its set a YouTube record
It was only released yesterday, but it has already set a YouTube record!
"thank u, next" was released back in early November and we've already heard the audio and seen an official lyric video, too. Now, though, the time has finally come for the official music video and it's one we've all been waiting for.
The music video was released this Friday and it was (and still is) a smash all of the world. People are loving it!
YouTube has a feature called "Premieres tool". This feature allows users to experience the video together in real time. Ariana's 'thank u, next' music video had over 829,000 simultaneous live viewers watching it.
Ariana Grande tweeted @TeamYouTube back: "that's hard".
Within the video, some references are made about Ariana Grande's now ex-fiancee Pete Davidson.
Even though the comments were slow at appearing and loading, YouTube's said the thank u, next video has set a brand new Premieres record with over 516,000 messages posted in the discussion sidebar, whilst people were watching the music video!
'thank u, next' is the first single from Ariana Grande's fifth studio album, also named 'thank u, next'. It comes after the success of Ariana's current album, which is out now, named 'Sweetener'.
'Sweetener' was released this year on 17 August.
And, just as Ariana teased on her social media accounts for the last few weeks, the video features like-for-like scenes from: Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going On 30 and Legally Blonde. It's fair to say that Ariana Grande and the team have pulled this off very, very well.
The 24 year old singer / songwriter has revealed that her 2019 tour (coming soon) will have and feature songs from both her Sweetener and thank u, next albums.
