After 30 years, EA Sports will no longer make football games using Fifa brand
Electronic Arts (EA Sports) made the first Fifa football game in 1993. The latest and current Fifa made EA Sports game is titled 'Fifa 22'. Starting in 2023, Fifa's football games will drop the 'Fifa' brand and be titled 'EA Sports FC'.
If you aren't ready to let go yet, don't worry, the final Fifa branded game by EA, named 'Fifa 23', will be available in autumn this year as normal.
You can expect to see 'EA Sports FC' in the later part of summer 2023.
Fifa have said on their website they 'will launch new football video games developed with third-party studios and publishers, providing more choice for football and gaming fans' and 'the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST."
With EA Sports FC, Electronic Arts say: 'Everything you love about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be there.'
