It is an electrifying move from BMW, who own the Mini brand
The Mini Electric is based off of the 3-door hatchback model and the production of the nippy electric vehicle will be moving from Mini's Plant Oxford, to China.
The first electric Mini was built in 2020 at its Oxford plant in Cowley. BMW say all Minis will be electric by 2030. The electric small SUV and hatchback Minis are going to be built in China.
The electric Mini Countryman is going to be built in Leipzig, Germany.
For those who love all the heritage around the Mini, the good news is the staff at the Cowley, Oxford plant will build the Mini Cooper three and five door hatchback models and from 2025, the Mini Convertible will be built from the Oxford plant.
