Samsung mid-range line of smartphones have had a complete makeover - one even dons a rotating camera! Here's all you need to know about the new devices

Samsung's budget friendly and mid-range smartphones are getting better and better, there's no denying that. The Galaxy range has had a makeover, so it's now the turn of Samsung's A Range of smartphones.

As standard, the new devices feature an all day battery life, immersive screens and a revolutionary camera to help you capture your life.

There are four phone to pick from in the new A range: the A40, A50, A70 and A80.

Galaxy A40

We'll start off with the A40 and its specs.

Screen wise, everything will look great, thanks to the Super AMOLED display and your photos will really bring the story to life because of the 16 mega-pixel rear camera. The A40 also features Samsung's Ultra Wide 5 mega pixel camera so you can capture the whole shot.

Selfie? Yes please. Capture your good side with the amazing 25 mega pixel front-facing selfie camera.

Memory and on-board storage will store all of your apps, photos, videos and music as there's 64GB built-in and you'll be able to expend on that storage up-to 612GB as the device features a MicroSD card slot.

The A40 is dual-SIM capable, meaning you can put 2 SIM cards into the smartphone. Nano SIM supported for your SIM card. There is no USB-C support for the A40, instead going old school with Micro USB charger and sync cable, which is included in the box.

Good news for you music fans because the 3.5 mm jack remains on the A40! There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the smartphone - the only device in the A range to feature this.

There a a few colour choices to choose from to spice up your life. These are: Black, White, Blue and Coral.

Samsung also claim you'll be able to keep going all day using the A40, thanks to its 3,100mAh battery life. It also supports 15W Fast Charging meaning you'll be powered up in no time.

Galaxy A50

The Samsung Samsung Galaxy A50 provides premium design and smooth curved edges around the phone, which provide a fantastic look and feel.

Galaxy A50 features the same Super AMOLED screen technology as the A40.

The Galaxy A50 sports a triple camera setup on the rear of the device - a 5 mega pixel Depth Camera, 25 mega pixel main camera and an 8 mega pixel Ultra Wide camera which means you'll capture more in every shot.

Like the A40, the A50 packs a 25 mega pixel Selfie Camera to make your selfies look fantastic.

You're getting 128 GB built-in storage on the A50 and this can be expanded up to 512 GB using a Micro SD card which slots into the smartphone.

The A50 also features dual-SIM and supports Nano SIM for your SIM card. The A50 does too keep the beloved 3.5 mm jack so you can listen to your favourite music without needing to carry around or buy an adaptor, like you have to with other smartphones, such as the iPhone X.

Unlike the A40, the A50 features the On-Screen Fingerprint scanner, instead of having a physical one on the rear of the device. The A50 also has a larger battery - 4,000 - and it supports Fast Charging too.

The same colour choices apply as the A40.

Samsung's very own AI - Bixby - is featured on the A50 and has a dedicated button on the side of the phone, just like on the S8, S9 and Galaxy S10.

The cost for the A50 is £309.00 when brought direct from a Samsung store or on its website.

A70

Again, like the A50, the A70 has a triple camera setup on the rear of the device but has a 32 mega pixel main camera, instead of the 25 mega pixel one on the A50, so you'll get shaper, clearer photos in both daylight and low light.

There's a 32 mega pixel front facing Selfie Camera on the A70 and this means you'll be able to really nail the selfie game and take the perfect shot to upload to social media.

The same amount of storage applies as the above phone, with the option of expending that memory with a MicroSD card slot.

A bigger battery means you can be going for even longer. Last the whole day thanks to the huge 4.500mAh battery and the A70 supports Super Fast Charging means you can charge less and do more.

The same colour options apply. You cannot purchase the A70 direct from Samsung's website yet.

A80

This is the star of the show. The A80 is 'built of the era of live', according to Samsung.

It dons the worlds first triple camera lens rotating setup on a smartphone! It comes equipped with a 8 mega pixel Ultra Wide Camera, a 48 mega pixel Main Camera and a 3D Depth Camera - and this means great selfies and other shots as the camera rotates of the back and front of this next generation smartphone.

The A8 has a massive battery hidden under the bonnet. A 3,700mAh battery means you'll be always connected and ready for the day ahead. It also sports Super Fast Charging.

Samsung's On-Screen Fingerprint Scanner is fused into the glass so you can just rest your finger on it and it'll unlock at speed so you can get on with what ever you need to do.

8GB of RAM mean you're ready to flight zombies in the latest action games, stream your favourite YouTube videos and use it for high quality recording. So, whatever you do on your phone, the Samsung A80 can handle it.

Samsung very own security platform - Knox - is built right into the A80, so all of your data and personal information stays protected the minute your phone powers on.

We'll have more information on all of the featured devices very soon, when it becomes available, so stay tuned for more. What phone will you be purchasing from the brand new A Range from Samsung? Let us know!
